CROSS RIVER STATE WATER BOARD LIMITED was incorporated in August 1998 as a Limited Liability Company wholly owned by the Cross River State Government to take over the business of the production and supply of potable water to the urban and semi urban inhabitants of Cross River State. It has its Head Office at Ndidem Usang Iso Road, Calabar and out Stations across the State. The Company has shown consistency in its services since its establishment and is recognised as a pace setter in the water industry in Nigeria and beyond.

Cross River State Water Board Limited has seen to the successful execution of a $116m African Development Bank (ADB) assisted CRS Water Supply Project. This project since its completion in 2001 and commissioning in 2005 has provided new treatment plants and reticulation systems in Calabar, Akamkpa, Ugep/Ediba which ensures the provision of potable water to its teeming customers in about seven Local Government Areas of the State 24/7.

On-going USD 50 m World Bank assisted Second National Urban Water Sector Reform Project which would further increase the number of Local Government Areas covered by 6 (Ikom, Ogoja, Obudu, Yala, Akpabuyo and Bekwarra).

Cross River State Water Board Limited has currently secured a facility from the French Development Agency (AfD)  which shall be used for funding water supply infrastructures in Obubra and Okpoma both in Obubra and Yala Local Government Areas respectively.

European Union grant to Cross River State shall assist Cross River State Water Board Limited with the same semi-rural communities in Odukpani, Boki and Obubra Local Government Areas. All these would ensure complete coverage of the State by the Company’s services.

For now and into the foreseeable future, the Cross River State Water Board Limited is poised to ensure World class services with WHO standard potable water delivery to its consumers both individual as in household connections and industrial concerns.
